A recent jury verdict has led to the conviction of Christopher Cole on multiple charges involving sexual assault against children. As reported by the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office, Cole was found guilty of eight counts of lewd act upon a child and one count of committing a sex act with a child under 10 years old. The court also affirmed the existence of multiple victims and various aggravating factors in the case, such as substantial sexual contact, use of obscene material, and the defendant leveraging a position of trust.
The heinous acts committed by Cole involved two young girls aged between 4 and 9 years old. According to the District Attorney’s Office, Cole was to have repeatedly abused one of the victims, which included acts of sodomy. He was also found to have exposed the second victim to pornographic material and subsequently coerced her into performing sexual acts. It was further stated that there were instances where Cole assaulted both children concurrently.
In a disturbing revelation, the jury received evidence that one of the victims was particularly vulnerable, adding to the gravity of the offenses. The prosecution's case against Cole proved that the criminal acts were carried out with planning and sophistication, reflecting a predatory nature that underscores the potential for a substantial sentence. Cole potentially faces a sentence up to 400 years to life, pending the outcome of a concerning prior strike conviction for voluntary manslaughter that will be examined at the sentencing hearing. Justice for the victims in this somber case is set to culminate on December 5, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. when Cole is due for sentencing by Judge Carlton Davis in Department 18.
