According to KCRA, officials from the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District reported an individual had been struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Cottage Way and Fulton Avenue. The condition of the person hospitalized after the collision remains undisclosed.
Further details provided by the California Highway Patrol, as noted by ABC10, clarified that the victim was a man in his 60s. Walking north across Cottage Way, the man—outside a designated crosswalk—was hit by a vehicle turning onto the street from Fulton Avenue. The driver, a man in his 20s, allegedly did not see the pedestrian until the collision occurred.
The man injured was promptly taken to a hospital with major injuries. While the intersection where the accident took place was momentarily a tableau of emergency response, the scene has since been cleared.
