In a recent verdict that has gripped the community's attention, Kenneth Howe has been condemned to serve 75 years to life in prison for the first-degree murder of Amadon Estrada. The sentence, handed down by the Honorable Kenneth Brody, comes after a jury found Howe guilty on July 31, 2025, as per an official press release by the Sacramento County District Attorney's Office.
Alongside the conviction, the jury substantiated the allegation that Howe's discharge of a firearm was the cause of death. The court additionally acknowledged Howe's previous strike conviction involving child molestation.
Details provided by the Sacramento County District Attorney's Office relay the events leading up to the crime, which indicate a premeditated act driven by jealousy and rage. Howe, unable to grapple with the fact that his girlfriend had begun to see Estrada, decided to confront the two at the victim's camp on June 2, 2022. Upon discovering them together, Howe then went to retrieve a gun from his own camp, donned gloves and a bulletproof vest before proceeding to fatally shoot Estrada within his tent.
