A Sacramento woman, Farishta Rahimi, 38, has been taken into custody after allegedly assaulting her husband and their children in an incident that unfolded Wednesday night. The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department responded to a harrowing 911 call placed by a child who claimed, "My mom is trying to kill me with a knife." The assault took place at an apartment complex on the 2800 block of Corabel Lane, and deputies were on the scene within minutes to detain Rahimi, as reported by ABC10.
According to a KCRA report, the altercation began after Rahimi and her spouse argued over a broken iPad, which quickly escalated as Rahimi hit her husband with a vacuum cord, leaving visible injuries. She proceeded to attack her 10-year-old child with an metal pole, resulting in visible harm and potentially broken bones. Subsequently, Rahimi reportedly grabbed a kitchen knife and lunged at her 11-year-old, cutting the child’s hand among other injuries. There was also four-year-old present during the ordeal, but fortunately, that child was not harmed.
Rahimi faces multiple felony charges, including assault with a deadly weapon and child abuse. Notably, the severity of the case prompted a judge to set bail at an enhanced $500,000, as requested by investigators due to the violent nature of the alleged crimes, as detailed in the reports from both ABC10 and KCRA. Rahimi is scheduled to appear in court on October 3. The Sacramento County Main Jail now lists Rahimi with charges that span from corporal injury to a spouse or cohabitant, to child endangerment, and threats to commit crime resulting in death or great bodily injury.
