
Early Friday morning, Salt Lake City firefighters responded to a significant structure fire at the Polar Service Center, a commercial truck parts and repair facility. Reports from ABC4 indicate that the blaze began when a vehicle inside the building caught fire.
Responding to the incident located in the 1400 West block of 2100 South, approximately 40 firefighters swiftly managed to contain the fire, as detailed by KSLTV. Their efforts limited the damage to a single service bay. Despite the intensity of the flames, the team was able to get a handle on the situation quickly, likely within 20 minutes of their arrival.
As per KSL.com, the fire resulted in an estimated $500,000 in damage. However, amidst the chaos and destruction, no injuries were reported during this incident. Hannah Youell, communications manager with the Salt Lake City Fire Department, remarked on the incident, stating that the firefighters received the first call at 12:58 a.m. and more than 40 emergency personnel were at the scene to tackle the fire, which was brought under control in approximately 40 minutes.
