
San Antonio International Airport is showing its support for military and veteran community members with a revamped parking program set to begin starting November 1, as announced by the City of San Antonio Aviation Department. The program, reserved for Texas-registered Disabled Veteran (DV) or specialty military license plates holders, offers a mix of complimentary and discounted parking rates—up to 30 days of free parking in economy lots, a 50% discount in the long-term garage, and a 25% discount in the short-term garage, this program also includes the guarantee of Purple Heart and POW parking, which remains complimentary.
For those interested in grabbing these parking perks, enrollment is required and can be done online at FlySATParking.com/DV or by calling 210-207-3490 for an in-person appointment; moreover, Airport Ambassadors will be on deck throughout November for assistance, and enrollment events at the SAT Parking Office are slated for October 30, November 1, and November 6 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Though the process for enrollment could take a few days, once vetted, participants' plates will sync with the Metropolis parking system, streamlining their entry and exit while automatically applying their parking benefits.
According to the City of San Antonio, speaking on the commitment to military travelers, Jesus Saenz, Director of Airports for the City of San Antonio Aviation Department, conveyed, "The San Antonio region is home to one of the nation’s largest military and veteran communities, with an estimated 156,000 veterans in Bexar County," and he highlighted, "This year alone, more than 41,000 vehicles with Disabled Veteran plates have used our parking facilities," his words emphasizing the tangible impact and utilization of such programs as the airport doubles down on their dedication to service excellence for the military community.
