Barwell Road Community Center is opening its doors to the youngest dancers and artists in the family. Starting October 22, the center will host 'Masterpieces and Movement,' a class designed specifically for children ages 3-5. As reported by the official Raleigh Parks and Recreation website, the class aims to encourage social interaction and self-esteem building through physical activity and creative expression.
Parents are encouraged to dress up their kids in their favorite costumes for the October session, creating a family-friendly environment where imagination can take the lead. In November, the theme shifts to giving thanks, a timely celebration for the season. Children will have a chance to not only to freely move in the gym with activities like running and skipping but also to engage in storytelling and crafts in the multi-purpose room. At $5 per child, the cost is designed to be accessible for local families.
Each session runs from 10 to 11:30 a.m., making for a morning filled with energy and creativity. The Raleigh Parks and Recreation website details that the program is a unique opportunity for children to "improve their child's social skills and help them build their self-esteem as they tackle new challenges." It's an initiative that aligns with the community center's ongoing efforts to provide inclusive, educational programs to the community.
For those interested in attending 'Masterpieces and Movement,' there are two dates to remember: October 22, and November 19. Be sure to arrive at the Barwell Road Community Center ready to move and create. The full details and registration information can be found on the Raleigh Parks and Recreation website.
