The streets of San Luis will sparkle with the return of the "Holiday of Lights Parade" on December 11, bringing a fusion of lights, music, and community performances that symbolize the town's holiday enthusiasm. Scheduled for a 6:30 p.m. kick-off, the parade promises a night filled with festive floats, bands, and a bevy of entrants expected to draw crowds, who are advised to stake out spots early for optimal viewing, asccording to the City of San Luis.
Starting from Urtuzuastegui Street & 10th Avenue, the parade will weave its way through the heart of San Luis before coming to a close at Southwest Junior High, as outlined in a recent announcement by the city. The City of San Luis Parks and Recreation Department is at the helm of the event and is accepting applications both online and in-person at their offices on 744 E. Cesar Chavez Boulevard. Angelica Roldan, the Director of Parks and Recreation, shared her anticipation for the event, stating, "The Holiday of Lights Parade is a highlight of San Luis’s festive season, bringing together families, local businesses, and community groups to celebrate the holidays," highlighting the unifying effect the parade has on the community, as stated by the City of San Luis.
Special judges will be on hand to award participants in several categories including Best Automobile and Best Entertainment; with the Merriest Award going to the top entry that captures the holiday's spirit best the spirit of the holidays, and Roldan encourages all to "join the fun, decorate, and bask in this bright, joyful celebration."
