
The Schertz community is grappling with the tragic news after local police discovered the body of 19-year-old Zacharias Stallings, reported missing since last week, in a field on Thursday afternoon, KSAT reports. Stallings, who was diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome, was last seen alive on October 18 near his home in the 5200 block of Nature Path.
According to FOX San Antonio, the discovery was made near the intersection of Interstate 35 and Schwab Road, the body was spotted by a drone conducting an aerial search around 3:30 p.m., information about his whereabouts or destination after he left his home has been scarce, prompting law enforcement to appeal to the public for any video footage that might provide insight into his movements on and after the night he was last seen.
Stallings, described as 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing 155 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes, was last observed wearing a white T-shirt and black shorts. Officials have indicated there is no apparent sign of foul play, but the cause of death remains undetermined while the Schertz Police Department continues its investigation, as per FOX San Antonio.
