Residents of the Cedar Crossing Apartments reacted with shock to a recent incident. Dia Ford, a three-year resident, said, "I’m a mom myself, I got three little girls, and honestly I can’t wrap my head around it – I’d be lying if I said I could, I just can’t." Taner Starks, another resident, noted changes in the suspect’s behavior and that she had been asking for help for days. Ford added, "For the last few months she did not seem like herself, which was out of character.. her normal routines, and things that she did, were not normal," as per KOMO News. The community has a history of violence, including a past homicide involving a parent and child and a suicide.
The investigation is ongoing, and police have not released more details about the boy's death. The Seattle Police Department said the community is safe, as mentioned by The Seattle Times. Updates will be provided as the investigation continues.
