Seattle authorities are on high alert after a series of arson incidents rocked South Seattle neighborhoods last Friday. According to a report from the Seattle Police Department Blotter, the fires were systematically set, beginning at 22nd Avenue South and South Hill Street and moving southbound to near South Walden Street and Wetmore Avenue South. The suspect, still at large, was said to be dressed in dark clothing.
Officials estimate that the arson spree took place within a one-hour window, starting around 12:13 a.m., and resulted in at least eight fires. Fortunately, thus far, reports confirm no injuries and no significant property damage.
The Seattle Fire Department's Arson Bomb Squad was promptly notified, with Fire Marshall 5 now looped into the investigation. As the situation remains active, law enforcement is conducting a thorough investigation, including retrieving surveillance footage and interviewing potential witnesses. Residents of the impacted areas are urged to stay vigilant and report any relevant information to authorities.
