Seattle's University District became the scene of violence when a 57-year-old man was stabbed this evening, sparking an investigation by local police. According to the Seattle Police Department's blotter, the incident occurred around 5:00 p.m. near the 4700 block of Brooklyn Avenue Northeast, where patrol officers responded swiftly to the reports of the assault.
On arrival, the victim was discovered with a back wound – a cruel puncture marking an otherwise ordinary day. Officers provided him with emergency medical aid, and he was then treated by the Seattle Fire Department until they transported him to Harborview Medical Center. And despite the seriousness of his injuries, they are thankfully not considered to be life-threatening. The hunt for the suspect, who has been described as a white male, approximately 40 years old, 5’10” tall, and was last seen wearing a distinctive red baseball cap and hoodie, dark pants, and white shoes, is ongoing as he managed to elude capture before authorities arrived on the scene.
Police are seeking assistance from the public, urging anyone who might have information about the stabbing or the whereabouts of the suspect to come forward. The SPD Violent Crimes tip line, at 206-233-5000, is available for anyone who can provide details, and they have made it clear that anonymous submissions of tips are also accepted.
