The Stockton Police Department's ongoing investigation into a deadly shooting that occurred on August 30 has resulted in a second arrest, as reported by ABC10. 18-year-old Alexis Holloway was detained on suspicion of homicide this past Thursday, joining Walter Burgess, 23, who was previously taken into custody on September 22.
Responding to the incident near Albany Drive and Astor Drive that evening, patrol officers discovered a man with multiple gunshot wounds. He was swiftly taken for emergency medical treatment, but despite their efforts, the victim succumbed to injuries on September 16. Burgess, identified by detectives as a person of interest, was picked up during a traffic stop, where he was a passenger, and booked for homicide, as per information obtained by FOX40.
Both Holloway and Burgess are now held at the San Joaquin County jail following their arrests on suspicion of their involvement in the homicide. The investigation by local authorities into the shooting is active and ongoing.
The late victim, whose identity has not been disclosed by the police, underwent surgery in an attempt to survive the multiple gunshot wounds; however, despite the efforts of medical staff, their life was claimed by the violence that has become all too familiar in the narratives of such American streets.
