A morning incident in Chinatown resulted in injuries to a senior citizen and a child following contact involving a skateboard. The NYPD reported that the event took place near East Broadway and Market Street at approximately 7:25 a.m. yesterday. The situation started when a 10-year-old boy's skateboard came into contact with an unidentified man while crossing the street.
According to PIX11 News, the situation escalated quickly when the man engaged in an argument and allegedly struck both the 71-year-old woman and the child in the face. The woman sustained a cut to her lip, while the boy experienced pain and redness on his face. Both victims received medical treatment at a local hospital, and the suspect fled the scene before authorities arrived.
No arrests have been made in connection with the assault, and the NYPD is seeking the public’s help. In a social media post by NYPD Crimestoppers, authorities are requesting information about the unidentified man last seen wearing a multicolored coat, blue jeans, and white sneakers.
