A disturbing discovery unfolded in Pittsburgh's Brighton Heights neighborhood after a missing Louisiana juvenile was located, concealed in a box in the basement of a home. According to a report by WTAE, the girl had been reported missing on Oct. 30 and was found following a Childline Report to the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police Special Victims Unit.

Upon executing the search warrant, police officers found the juvenile in a basement, hidden inside a sheet-covered box, as reported by WPXI. Initially reported by U.S. marshals, the location of the juvenile was determined to be a home on the 1200 block of Davis Avenue, where a man is now facing serious charges related to the case.

The girl claimed she met Ki-Shawn Crumity, 26, over social media, specifically on Snapchat. Crumity allegedly promised to have her adopted by a "trusted adult." It was while the girl was at a bus station in Washington, D.C., that she met a woman who expressed concern for her well-being. She informed Crumity that "she was bringing a friend" and ended up traveling to Pittsburgh with this woman, as "she told police" in records cited by WPXI.

In a harrowing account detailed by the victim, her first night at the home saw the girl, the woman, and Crumity sharing a bed in the basement, where Crumity purportedly gave her alcohol and edibles. During her approximate weeklong stay at the home, she was allegedly sexually assaulted by Crumity "once or twice a day." Upon her rescue, the girl expressed to officials, as WTAE reported, that being at the hospital was "the safest she ever felt" following the traumatic experience.

Crumity, upon being interviewed, admitted to sexually assaulting the girl on multiple occasions. He faces a myriad of charges, including trafficking in individuals, statutory sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, sexual assault, and corruption of minors. Crumity is currently being held in the Allegheny County Jail without bail, underscoring the severity of the offenses charged against him.
