Last Friday, an alarm at Adobe Drugs on W. Napa St in Sonoma was triggered, prompting an immediate response from the Sonoma Police Department. Deputies arrived at the scene three minutes after being dispatched at 1:30 AM to find a broken window, but no suspects in sight. The swift entry, however, only resulted in minor theft as the pharmacy had taken considerable measures to secure valuable items.
According to a social media post by the Sonoma Police Department, the true cost lay in the damage to the property rather than the goods taken.
The unidentified culprits, who had already fled when law enforcement arrived, were noted to have arrived and departed in a vehicle shortly before and after the burglary. While the officers could ascertain details of the vehicle's movements, the suspects had left the city and county before any apprehension could be made. The Sonoma PD, operating as part of a contract with the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office, currently relies on the expertise of the SCSO Property Crimes Investigations Unit to look into these out-of-county suspects.
