South Milwaukee announced the completion of new pavement on several major streets ahead of Halloween weekend. According to the City of South Milwaukee's Facebook post, crews have finished work on Marquette Avenue, 6th Avenue, and Michigan Avenue to accommodate increased pedestrian traffic for trick-or-treating.
Marquette Avenue is open from 5th to 8th, 6th Avenue from Montana to Michigan, and Michigan Avenue from 3rd to 10th. Although pavement work is complete, these areas remain active construction zones where finishing tasks are still underway. Motorists and pedestrians are advised to use caution.
City officials stated that crews worked diligently to prepare the roads and confirmed they are open to traffic for the weekend, while reminding the public to remain alert in ongoing construction areas.
