
A man was fatally shot in South Sacramento last night, an incident that has added to the city’s growing homicide count for the year. The Sacramento Police Department responded to the scene before 9:30 p.m. after receiving reports of gunfire in the 2400 block of Meadowview Road, per details from a ABC10 report.
Upon arrival, law enforcement found the man suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Despite efforts to save his life, he was pronounced dead. According to KCRA 3, this shooting marks the 33rd homicide recorded within Sacramento's city limits so far this year. As the investigation unfolds, Meadowview Road near 24th Street was closed to traffic, with westbound lanes expected to be inaccessible for several hours as detectives combed through the scene.
