The Metropolitan Police Department announced an arrest connected to a series of armed crimes that occurred earlier this year in Northeast D.C. Damarco Jackson, 20, of Southeast D.C., was taken into custody on Thursday under a DC Superior Court warrant. He is charged with armed carjacking and two counts of armed robbery, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

The first incident took place on March 13 around 7:00 p.m. in the 1800 block of Varnum Street, Northeast, where Jackson allegedly stole a vehicle at gunpoint while the victim was inside. The case is documented under CCN: 25036418.

Earlier that same day, around 5:50 p.m., in the 300 block of Oklahoma Avenue, Northeast (CCN: 25036407), Jackson reportedly used a vehicle to knock a victim off a bicycle, threatened them with a handgun, and took their belongings. A second armed robbery followed at about 6:38 p.m. near Oklahoma Avenue and E Street, Northeast (CCN: 25036422), where Jackson allegedly robbed another victim at gunpoint.

The MPD’s Carjacking Taskforce, working with the FBI Washington Field Office, continues to investigate as additional suspects remain at large.
