The City of St. Louis Community Development Administration, working alongside the Missouri Housing Development Commission, has allocated $2.7 million to support three projects focused on providing accessible and affordable housing for residents. The partnership seeks to revitalize neighborhoods through a combination of new construction and renovated housing units.

Announced on September 5, the funding reflects city officials’ ongoing efforts to support mixed-income communities and promote neighborhood revitalization. The projects are specifically aimed at initiatives in The Ville and Greater Ville, as well as preserving historic housing in South City areas. It was reported by the City of St. Louis that the three developments combined will impact over 130 homes.

"CDA is proud to work with MHDC and our nonprofit community development corporation and private development partners to bring these projects to life," said Nahuel Fefer, Executive Director of CDA, according to the City of St. Louis.

One significant project, The Simmons Mark, utilizes a $1 million investment from CDA to convert an abandoned neighborhood school into service-enriched apartments for seniors. Led by LMAC Holdings LLC, Fleur de Lis Development Corp, and River Blues Community Development Organization, the development is located in the historic The Ville neighborhood. While The Simmons Mark is pending its LIHTC award, the project is projected to cost approximately $42.5 million and provide 58 housing units.
