Looking ahead, the sunny streak is set to persist through the weekend, with Friday mirroring today's conditions and a high again near 88 degrees, though the calm winds will swing to the southwest come morning and Saturday's forecast calls for more sun and light winds that increase slightly in strength, with conditions remaining clear into the night as the low settles around 62. On Sunday, we're back to our sunny high of 88, but the nighttime brings mostly clear skies and a milder low of around 66 degrees.
The start of the new week, however, shifts slightly, though remaining promising for those favoring sunny days—Monday will be sunny with a high near 86 but with a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms emerging post 1 p.m., a pattern that will hold into the nighttime, the low rounds out around 65 with a similar chance of showers after dark, and Tuesday carries over this trend with a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms despite a mostly sunny backdrop with a high cresting at 84 degrees.
According to the Hazardous Weather Outlook, there is a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms Tuesday night, continuing into Wednesday before clearing to mostly sunny conditions with a high near 76. No hazardous weather is expected, but thunderstorms are possible in southeast Missouri and southwest Illinois this afternoon and evening, with additional scattered storms forecast from Monday through Wednesday. Spotter activation is not expected at this time.
