In an operation targeting online interactions between adults and minors, the St. Petersburg Police Department (StPetePD) arrested four men for attempting to meet children for sexual activity. Operation Spooky Surprise involved detectives working undercover in online chat rooms and websites where adults sought contact with minors.
During the weekend-long operation, four men arranged to meet for sexual encounters, believing they were communicating with 14- and 15-year-olds. In reality, their contacts were undercover officers, the St. Petersburg Police Department stated in social media post.
