The City of St. Petersburg, Florida, invites community members to the unveiling of the Sunshine City Mosaic at Sunset Park, which depicts Florida's wildlife. According to a social media post from the city's official Facebook page, the celebration is set for Wednesday, at 5 p.m.
The mosaic measures 175 feet long and covers 700 square feet, featuring over 15,000 tiles that depict nine scenes of local wildlife. The family-friendly event will include various activities, such as mosaic-themed arts and crafts and lawn games. Food and refreshments will be available while supplies last. The project was created by three local artists: Laura Spencer, Alex Kaufman, and George Retkes. They are credited with making the Sunshine City Mosaic, which shows different aspects of Florida’s wildlife.
