
The Stark County Sheriff's Office is currently probing the circumstances surrounding a fatal car crash in Lexington Township. As reported on their social media by Stark County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a distressing scene on Monday evening of October 13, where a 2007 Buick LaCrosse had been overturned.
According to the preliminary investigation, around 6:00 p.m., the vehicle was traveling northbound on Iowa Avenue NE when it unexpectedly veered off the right side of the road and rolled several times. The crash led to the driver, Shantelle Watson, being ejected from the car despite the deputies' quick arrival on the 14400 block of the avenue.
Shantelle Watson, a 31-year-old Alliance, Ohio resident, was transported to Aultman Hospital following the incident. Unfortunately, she later passed away due to the injuries sustained in the crash. The investigation, which is now involving the Canton Metro Crash Team alongside the Alliance and Lexington Township Fire Departments, is still ongoing.
