The Stockton Police Department earned first place in the San Joaquin County SWAT competition. The annual event, hosted by the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office, brought together 15 SWAT teams from across California to compete in various tactical and physical challenges on Wednesday and Thursday last week, according to the Stockton Police Department's Facebook page.
Teams participated in simulated scenarios, including hostage situations and active shooter responses, and were evaluated on tactical performance, physical fitness, and firearm proficiency. The Stockton Police Department placed first overall and also won the team physical fitness challenge. Additionally, one team member earned second place in the individual fitness category.
The event helps teams share best practices and strengthen collaboration among law enforcement agencies. This marks the fourth consecutive year that Stockton’s SWAT team has won the competition. More information about the event and the department’s achievement can be found on the Stockton Police Department’s official Facebook page.
