Early this morning, a police pursuit ended with a stolen vehicle crashing in Las Vegas’s central valley, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. FOX 5 Vegas reported that the vehicle was being followed by its owner near Wynn Road and Tropicana Avenue around 5 a.m. when the incident escalated.
Officers located the stolen car, and the driver fled, leading to a chase that ended when the vehicle crashed into several parked cars and landscaping. The suspect was taken into custody. LVMPD stated that there will be an ongoing police presence in the area and advised drivers to avoid the location.
News3LV reported that the crash occurred specifically at the corner of Tropicana Avenue and Wynn Road, near The Orleans. The vehicle’s owner had been tracking the car, which helped police locate it.
The crash caused property damage, and authorities continue to investigate. Motorists are advised to expect traffic delays and use alternate routes until the area is cleared.
