
A routine traffic stop in Glen Burnie morphed into an arrest situation when Anne Arundel County Police discovered a loaded handgun in a vehicle last Friday night. The incident, which occurred around 11:30 p.m., unfolded on Ritchie Highway near Furnace Branch Road East, according to a report released by FOX Baltimore.
Authorities have identified the driver as 36-year-old Arielle McGregor of Suitland, Maryland. During the stop, initiated due to a registration violation, police discovered a loaded 9mm Taurus handgun in the passenger compartment of her gray 2004 Buick. The weapon was, accordingly, confiscated, and McGregor was arrested and slapped with multiple charges, including possession of a loaded handgun in a vehicle.
Further details provided by The Bay Net state that McGregor faces additional misdemeanors, which cover reckless endangerment and carrying a handgun while under the influence. As per the latest updates, she is being held without bond at the Anne Arundel County Detention Center, with a bail review hearing scheduled for the following day in Annapolis and a trial date set for November 19 in the Glen Burnie District Court.
