Chaos erupted on the streets of La Quinta earlier this week after a suspect in a theft investigation led deputies on a harrowing chase. According to official reports, the incident began on October 22 at around 4:01 p.m. when deputies attempted to stop the suspect's vehicle near Avenue 47 and Adams Street.
The situation escalated when the suspect, later identified as Noe Flores, 37, of Coachella, refused to pull over and instead allegedly attempted to ram a sheriff’s vehicle. Deputies gave chase as Flores sped east along Avenue 48, eventually leading to a collision with an unsuspecting motorist. The aftermath of the chase sent the latter to the hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.
Flores did not stop there; he fled the scene on foot into a nearby housing community. An extensive area search ensued, ultimately cornering Flores in the 83000 block of Boise Street, Indio. In a statement provided by the Riverside Sheriff’s Department, Flores was taken into custody and is facing multiple charges, including grand theft, assault on a police officer, and a hit and run with injury. He is now booked at the John Benoit Detention Center.
