The Metropolitan Police Department reported an arrest in connection with a fatal shooting in Northeast Washington, D.C. Officers responding to the 3300 block of 15th Street, NE, on August 13 found 36-year-old Mignon Brown-Massey with gunshot wounds, and she later died at the hospital, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
After an investigation, law enforcement arrested 32-year-old Darryn Bynum Jr. on Tuesday in Germantown, Maryland. He was located by the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force and has been charged with Second Degree Murder While Armed, as reported by the Metropolitan Police Department.
The Metropolitan Police Department says Fifth District officers went to the scene after a shooting was reported, found Brown-Massey injured, and called for medical help. DC Fire and EMS took him to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The suspect, Bynum Jr., was taken into custody without incident and brought to the Homicide Branch for processing. He is facing charges in D.C. Superior Court, with further court information to come.
