
A suspect involved in an officer-involved shooting in Tulsa was apprehended. The incident, which began with a traffic stop at 3600 E. Admiral last Friday, led to a high-speed chase where the suspect allegedly rammed into police vehicles before opening fire at officers, wounding one, as reported in a recent social media release by the Tulsa Police Department.
According to the Tulsa Police Department's post, the chase culminated at a QuikTrip store at Admiral and Memorial the situation escalated when the suspect fired multiple shots at Officers, striking one of them in the ankle, after which an officer neutralized the threat by using his patrol vehicle to strike the suspect who was then taken into custody.
The alleged perpetrator, 45-year-old Armon Williams, has since been charged with multiple offenses including three counts of assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a firearm after former conviction of a felony, eluding, and a series of traffic-related offenses. After receiving medical attention, Williams was booked into the Tulsa County Jail.
"The officer who was shot in the ankle is expected to make a full recovery", this was mentioned in the Tulsa Police Department’s social media update.
