On August 1 at approximately 6:10 p.m., two suspects carried out an armed robbery at a beauty supply store in 2400 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, Southeast. According to the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), one suspect displayed a firearm and ordered store employees to lie on the ground while the other stole $500 from the cash register.

On Wednesday, following a US District Court-authorized search warrant, Metropolitan Police Department arrested George Carr, a 22-year-old resident of Southeast DC, in connection with the robbery. Carr was taken into custody without incident and charged with Armed Robbery (Gun).

Police continue to search for the second suspect. Metropolitan Police Department is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction in this case.
