Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) confirmed the victim as 53-year-old Ronald Neville. The ongoing inquiry led detectives to pinpoint 32-year-old Ronnie Fewell as a suspect related to this grim incident.
According to CMPD's news release, Fewell was apprehended by the department's Violent Criminal Apprehension Team (VCAT) on Tuesday, just two days ago, marking a swift response to the unfolding events. This suspect is now facing grave charges, including Felony Murder, Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, and Felony Conspiracy. Following the arrest, Fewell has been placed under the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office.
The loss of Mr. Neville is felt deeply, and CMPD has made sure that the next of kin are aware of both the death and the current state of the investigation.
