The incident, which sadly resulted in the death of 26-year-old Jerome Myles of Northwest, occurred last Saturday. According to the Metropolitan Police Department, officers were called to the 1400 block of Clifton Street, Northwest, around 12:34 a.m., where they discovered the victim non-responsive, his vitality quelled by a gunshot.
First responders declared Myles deceased at the scene. The quick arrival of officers allowed for the identification of two individuals fleeing into a nearby building, marking the start of a tense search. It unfolded with detectives obtaining multiple emergency search warrants, leading to the apprehension of 35-year-old Antone Whitaker. Whitaker, a resident of Northeast, DC, has been charged with First Degree Murder While Armed in connection with Myles's death. Meanwhile, the search for the second person suspected in this tragedy persists.
