Following an intensive police operation, Montgomery County Department of Police apprehended 33-year-old Deondray Darnell Osborne, a suspect in a July attempted murder case. According to an announcement by the department, Osborne of Silver Spring was arrested near Georgia Avenue and Seminary Road after having been on the run since the July 20 incident.
The investigation, which spanned months and involved patrol investigations and a special assignment team, pinpointed a stolen BMW connected to Osborne. This discovery came to fruition when a police cruiser equipped with a license plate reader detected the stolen vehicle on October 21. The car was linked to Osborne and a previously reported theft from an auto in Washington, D.C.
The pursuit brought officers from both Montgomery County and the Metropolitan Police Department, along with federal task force agents, across state lines as the suspect led them on a high-speed chase. Osborne was eventually spotted leaving the BMW and switching to a Honda Accord, which allowed police to conduct a successful traffic stop and make the arrest.
Further investigation at an apartment frequented by Osborne yielded several items of evidentiary value. Osborne, currently being held without bond, faces several charges related to attempted murder and vehicle theft, as detailed in the police press release.
