A Hemet area burglary where various items were reported missing—including musical instruments and a vehicle—led to a swift arrest by local deputies. The Riverside Sheriff's Office reported that an unsecured home on Mandarin Drive received attention from the Hemet Sheriff’s Station deputies after an open-door call last Thursday morning. According to their press release, the house appeared ransacked, though no suspects were located at the time.

The investigation was handed over to the Hemet Special Enforcement Team, who were already familiar with the residence. They later confirmed with the homeowner that a burglary had taken place, noting the absence of both the grey Ford F150 and multiple music instruments. A day later, on Friday, October 3, with help from the Sheriff’s Aviation Unit, the deputies from Perris Sheriff’s Station traced the stolen vehicle to Sundance Lane in Menifee.

The man behind the wheel, 51-year-old Tony Goff from Lake Elsinore, was arrested after deputies stopped the vehicle. An ensuing search of the car unearthed several thousand dollars' worth of stolen musical instruments. Sergeant Matthew Cramer confirmed in their statement that "the stolen music equipment and vehicle were returned to the owner." Goff now faces multiple felony charges and is being held at the Cois Byrd Detention Center.

The Riverside Sheriff's Office suggests, the case is ongoing, and Deputy Roberto Valentin of the Hemet Sheriff’s Station is the point of contact for anyone with more information. The owner of the burglarized home has not released any statements regarding the incident or the recovery of their belongings. For any media inquiries related to this case, the Sheriff’s Office points towards their Media Information Bureau.
