The Honolulu Fire Department rescued an injured female hiker in her 20s from Kaena Point Trail in Waianae last Saturday. The department received the distress call at 12:04 p.m. and deployed six units with 18 personnel, arriving at the scene by 12:22 p.m., according to the Honolulu Fire Department.
The operation involved the Air 1 unit to reach the hiker, who was unable to descend due to her injury. A rescue specialist was airlifted to her location to provide first aid and basic life support, as reported by the Honolulu Fire Department.
The Honolulu Fire Department responded to assist an injured hiker off Kaena Point Trail through coordinated ground and air operations. The hiker was airlifted to a landing zone and transferred to Emergency Medical Services at 1:14 p.m. The operation ended safely with no injuries reported among responders.
