
Early this morning, residents on the 1600 block of E. Idlewild Avenue in Tampa were met with a house fire that engulfed a single-story home. According to the Tampa Fire Rescue's Facebook page, crews were dispatched around 5:20 a.m. and found heavy smoke and flames coming through the roof.
Firefighters used a defensive strategy due to the unstable structure and brought the blaze under control within 20 minutes. No injuries were reported.
Multiple units responded to the scene, including D1, D3, E7, E18, E5, E10, R7, R5, T13, VT1, VD1, PIO1, INV3, and INV4. Their coordinated response prevented the fire from spreading to nearby structures. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
