High school students in Tampa are gearing up to showcase their pride and celebrate heritage through the universal language of dance. Next Tuesday, the New Tampa Senior Production Showstars will take to the historic Tampa Theatre stage, grooving to the rhythms of Pitbull's "Echa Pa’lla (Manos Pa’rriba)." Students Marielvira Gomez and Alejandra Rozo, among others, are ready to represent their Hispanic roots in what promises to be a fusion of culture and jazz dance choreography.
The 37th Annual Hispanic Heritage Celebration isn't just another calendar event; it's a pivotal moment for these teens to to literally and figuratively step into the spotlight. And let’s not forget, there’s a free lunch in it for the first 200 attendees, because who doesn’t love a side of tacos with their entertainment, am I right? This time, it's not just about the spectacle, the kids are out to send a message about their identity and community pride. As reported by the City of Tampa's official website, the students are eager to “share their Latin culture with others.”
But before you go marking your calendars for next Tuesday at 11 a.m., the students are offering a sneak peek at the New Tampa Recreation Center today.
