A teenage student was taken into custody on Monday morning for allegedly bringing a firearm to Strawberry Crest High School. According to WFLA, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office stated that the 15-year-old, whose identity has not been released due to his age, was initially suspected of possessing vape pens on school property.

Around 9:30 a.m., school administrators searched the student’s backpack and found a 9mm semi-automatic pistol, which was unloaded and contained no ammunition. The situation escalated when the student attempted to flee and pushed two administrators, resulting in injuries. FOX 13 News reported that no direct threats were made toward other students or staff during the incident.

The student, identified by the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office as Alan Juarez-Ramirez, was charged with possession of a weapon on school grounds, minor in possession of a firearm, and two counts of battery on a specified official or employee. The case remains under active investigation, and authorities will provide updates as new information becomes available.
