A tragic car accident resulted in the death of a 17-year-old boy early this morning in Orange County. According to a report by WFTV, the incident took place around 3 a.m. on Landstar Boulevard, near Island Cove Drive, when a Hyundai Santa Fe, driven by the teenager, collided with a Honda CR-V and subsequently veered off the road into a tree.
The driver of the Hyundai, who was later transported to Osceola Regional Medical Center and pronounced dead, was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. These details were corroborated by WESH, which also reported that the vehicles were traveling southbound when the teen lost control of the vehicle. The driver of the Honda CR-V was not injured and stayed at the scene following the collision.
The authorities are still investigating the cause behind the Hyundai's loss of control.
