An early morning blaze in Las Vegas Valley sent three individuals to the hospital as flames engulfed a home today. FOX5 Vegas reports that units from Las Vegas Fire & Rescue alongside Clark County Fire Department responded to the incident located at a residence on Pennwood Avenue, close to Decatur Boulevard and Desert Inn Road.

Initial units on the scene found one person, along with several dogs, were missing as the emergency unfolded, and in the flurry of activity, dispatchers had aided at least one occupant in evacuating the premises before firefighters arrived, during this time, the rescue personnel sprang into action and successfully located and retrieved the unaccounted individual from within the house. The fire was subsequently extinguished at approximately 3:40 a.m., according to information provided by the FOX5 Vegas coverage of the event.

In a separate account, 8 News Now adds that the fire occurred around 3:20 a.m., with early reports coming in from one of the home's occupants. Two adults, a man and a woman, received on-site medical evaluation before all three individuals were transported for medical treatment to University Medical Center; the conditions of those transported have not been disclosed publicly.

Amidst the emergency response, the welfare of the resident animals were not overlooked with Animal Protection Services being called to the scene to care for the affected pets, and NV Energy was also on hand to secure the premises by boarding up compromised doors and windows signifying the oft-overlooked aftermath that typifies such domestic emergencies, the hum of a community piecing itself back together after the sudden rupture of calamity. "Firefighters began their initial search and located the victim, then rescued them from the home," Jordan Moore with LVFR told 8 News Now, describing the critical moments of the rescue operation.
