The Washington Capitals’ Red Carpet Home Opener on Wednesday will bring large crowds and traffic restrictions.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department, emergency no-parking zones will be in effect from 7:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. on F Street NW between 6th and 7th streets. Parking restrictions will be strictly enforced. Road closures will include F Street NW from 6th to 7th streets, along with restrictions to westbound traffic from 5th Street NW. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes.
Festivities and related street activities will take place throughout the day, leading up to the evening game. Local businesses and residents have been notified, and traffic advisories have been issued. Increased use of ride-sharing and public transit is expected.
