A deadly fire claimed the life of one individual and injured another in Port Orange on Wednesday. The incident unfolded in the 100 block of Abby Lane, with the Port Orange Fire Rescue being dispatched to the scene around 8 a.m. In a report provided by ClickOrlando, upon their arrival, firefighters encountered the residence completely engulfed in flames.
Two victims were quickly extracted from the blaze and transported to the hospital for medical attention. According to fire officials, one of these victims was pronounced dead following their arrival at the medical facility.
According to WFTV, the identity of the deceased has not been released as the investigation into this tragic event continues. No injuries were reported among the firefighters who responded to the emergency.
