Tulsa drivers can expect ongoing construction work to continue impacting commutes this week. The Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) has several traffic projects underway across the city, resulting in road closures and lane reductions that may affect many motorists in the Tulsa area.
Additional closures include the right lane of eastbound SH-51/Broken Arrow Expressway near 51st Street, which will be closed for drainage repairs on Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Drivers on US-412 near Sand Springs will also encounter a single-lane section between 209th West Avenue and 177th West Avenue for guardrail repairs during the same hours.
The southbound US-75 off-ramp to 1st St. will be shut down daily through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. For those reliant on I-244 eastbound, they’ll find a single lane near the US-75 junction through October, as detailed on the ODOT website.
Major interchange projects continue to impact traffic flow in the area. The I-44/US-75 interchange improvement project is scheduled to continue through summer 2028, with several ramp closures in place to manage traffic. Similarly, the I-44/SH-66 interchange upgrades in Catoosa are ongoing and expected to be completed by 2026.
Bridge rehabilitation on US-75 and pavement reconstruction on SH-97 in Sand Springs are proceeding as scheduled. Lane reductions are also in place on SH-66 at Bird Creek near Catoosa, with work expected to continue into early 2026. These projects are part of ongoing infrastructure improvements that are currently impacting traffic in the Tulsa area.
