
Tragedy struck Columbus last night as a collision involving a motorcycle resulted in two fatalities. The crash, reported just after 7 p.m. at the intersection of Roberts and Hilliard Rome roads, drew an immediate response from authorities in west Columbus. In a statement detailed by NBC4i, the Columbus Division of Police confirmed that two individuals were transported to a local hospital in critical condition and were later pronounced dead, specifying the first at 7:17 p.m. and the second at 7:30 p.m.
As reported by ABC6, the collision occurred when one vehicle hit a motorcycle. Although details remain sparse, officers from the Columbus police quickly arrived on scene to investigate. While the motorcyclist was rushed to Grant Medical Center, the other victim was confirmed to have also passed, though it remains unclear if they were directly involved in the collision or how they might be related to the incident.
According to 10TV, those killed were the driver and a passenger of the motorcycle. The driver of the car involved in the crash stayed at the scene as the investigation continued. In the interim, the intersection was closed. The Columbus police dispatcher stated that alcohol and drugs are not suspected to be a factor in the crash.
