Two juveniles were arrested last Monday following a high-speed pursuit that ended with a police maneuver and a foot chase in St. Johns County. The St. Johns County Sheriff's Office reported the incident in a social media post, detailing how deputies located a stolen vehicle from Duval County near Racetrack Road and East Peyton Parkway.
The suspects, identified as 16-year-old Jaylen Langston and 14-year-old Jermaryon Williams, tried to evade law enforcement, prompting deputies to use a PIT maneuver to stop their vehicle. Once the vehicle was disabled, both suspects fled on foot and ignored commands to stop, continuing to run until deputies caught them. Williams was subdued with a taser during the arrest.
Upon further investigation, deputies discovered a stolen handgun in Williams' possession and a second firearm alongside a backpack filled with burglary tools inside the vehicle. Williams faced additional charges including unlawful carry of a concealed firearm, and grand theft of a firearm.
Both juveniles are now facing serious allegations that include unlawful possession of a firearm under 18 years old, and grand theft of a motor vehicle.
