Two Santa Monica Police officers and a pickup truck driver were injured following a collision on Friday night. According to a report by ABC7, the crash occurred at the intersection of Main Street and Pico Boulevard at around 9:14 p.m.
The Santa Monica Police Department informed via a Facebook post that first responders were on scene, urging motorists to find alternate routes as the intersection was closed to traffic in all directions. "The collision involved a police vehicle with two Santa Monica Police officers and a second vehicle occupied by one driver," police posted. All the injured parties were swiftly transported to a nearby hospital to quickly receive medical evaluation.
While the condition of the Santa Monica officers and the driver is not yet clear, the crash site's aftermath was telling. Video footage showed the police cruiser with significant front-end damage, and the pickup truck also appeared to be extensively damaged, with debris scattered across the street.
