Early Monday morning, a tense drama unfolded on the streets of West Allis and Wauwatosa as two individuals were taken into police custody following a high-speed pursuit, during which shots were fired at police officers. According to FOX6 News, the chase began around 1 a.m. after officers responded to a call of a suspicious white SUV with headlights off, blocking an exit in a parking lot.
The pursuit quickly escalated when the suspects, driving near 70th and Madison, refused to stop and fled from responding officers. As reported by TMJ4, an occupant of the SUV allegedly discharged numerous gunshots towards the officers, with the preliminary investigations suggesting at least 20 shots were fired. Remarkably, no one was injured amidst the gunfire exchange.
In an attempt to halt the vehicle, West Allis police deployed stop sticks near 84th and Greenfield, yet the SUV continued to press northbound before it was finally stopped near Glenview and Wisconsin in Wauwatosa. CBS 58 revealed that a 26-year-old woman from West Allis and a 20-year-old man from Oak Creek were the suspects arrested, with a gun being found in the SUV post-chase.
