Charlotte's local community is coming together to support the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) in the search for 65-year-old Joseph Nsiah Bimpeh, who went missing at the beginning of September. According to official reports, Bimpeh was last seen leaving his home on Wicked Oak Lane, and CMPD received a call concerning his disappearance at 10:57 p.m., September 2.
The search has heightened due to Bimpeh's cognitive and other health issues, with authorities urging the public to actively keep an eye out. He was last seen wearing a white tank top and white shorts, and was carrying a distinctive robe, white with blue and yellow accents. The last confirmed sighting placed Bimpeh around 4:50 p.m. the same day, walking northwest toward Brookshire Boulevard from the area of Old Plank Road and Galeburg Street.
Community members and local authorities are worried as he has now been missing for well over a month. As someone known to suffer from cognitive issues, there is a heightened urgency to quickly locate him safely. The CMPD is requesting that anyone who might have seen Bimpeh or knows anything about his current whereabouts to not hesitate but to immediately call 911.
The CMPD has released a complaint number in conjunction with the missing persons report: 20250902-2257-00. Investigators are asking anyone to come forward with any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem.
