Utah State University (USU) has reported an uptick in its fall enrollment, with a 3.2% increase bringing the total student headcount to 29,831. Serving an annual cumulative figure of roughly 34,000 students, the institution attributes this growth to its dedication to providing accessible opportunities in higher education. Interim President Alan L. Smith was quoted as saying, "USU’s strong fall enrollment reflects Utah State’s persistent commitment to access and opportunity," emphasizing the university's land-grant mission to be an inclusive educational force for the state's residents and beyond, according to USU Today.

Highlighting the growth, USU has seen its numbers swell with the largest group of first-time students from Utah they've ever had. Speaking to their state mission, about three-quarters of these newcomers are Utah residents. Concurrent enrollment, which allows high school students to take college courses, has also seen nearly a 22% surge in the statewide system. While the Logan campus has seen a more modest 2% increase, it's worth noting that new high school graduates enrolling there have jumped by 5.7%.

In terms of financial commitment, USU is investing heavily in new student success. The institution boasts that over 75% of its first-year students participated in the Connections class on the Logan campus, which is designed to foster academic success. In an effort to further support incoming students, USU continues to offer various financial aids, including the Utah State Promise, which covers full tuition and fees for Pell Grant-eligible students, and the Aggie Advantage Grant, which has encouraged a 9% uptick in FAFSA completions for aid.

Private donors are stepping up their game, too. In the 2025 fiscal year, they've established 107 new endowed scholarships, of which 56 are from first-time donors, as reported by USU Today. This philanthropy has led to more than $9.6 million in donor-funded scholarships being awarded to 4,394 students. With deepened pockets, granted from over 5,830 scholarships, the support from individuals' commitment to education is visibly strengthening.
